Hemingway's Manly

Bakery and cafe in Marrickville. Warehouse-type space with awesome brunch options and stays open for special dinner meals two times a week. Fresh, clean, and creative ingredients...so get yourself some food with that coffee. I kept it simple with the fried egg sandwich, but even that has an interesting twist with egg, mushroom, haloumi, and beetroot relish on ciabatta.

Two Chaps

Dumplings and Dreams - the sign in this cozy spot does not lie. Has dine-in and takeaway options. Seats about 20 people around a long bar set up, where the bartender will take your food and drink order. Very cool vibe with plenty of dumpling varieties and some killer pork buns to complement. Gots to check it out if in Redfern!

Happy D's

Great open-air cafe in Redfern. Can hang inside, but the outdoor garden in the back is definitely the spot to take in some rays🌞. They serve brekky and lunch all day with some really creative options at great prices. The avo smash and a coffee did the trick for me as a morning snack.

The Shortlist Espresso Bar

Multi-level restaurant/bar on the water with incredible views of the Sydney skyline. Highly recommended after doing The Watsons Bay walk, which follows the coastline - really cool cliffs, lighthouses, and beaches along the way. Work up your appetite with a dip at Camp Cove or Watsons Baths, then grab a beer and meal to take in the sunset. I kept it light with a bacon cheeseburger, but plenty of variety on the menu to please all.

Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel

No frills Vietnamese spot with cheap eats. Treat yourself to a spicy beef pho bowl for under $10. It has some kick, but battle through and pat yourself on the back when done.

PHO 236

pho-236
Right off King Street in Newtown. Two-story bistro/cafe serving up their own dynamite homemade pastries and brekky in addition to the coffee that they brew on-site. Iced long black is killer and the industrial build gives it a great vibe. Only open until 4PM, so don't sleep in too late.

Brewtown Newtown

Awesome open-air cafe in the heart of Glebe. Stop in for a coffee and a quick bite with a street view ideal for some quality people-watching. Or dial-up the free wi-fi to take care of all the work you've been putting off.
