Places to go in Pittsburgh

Music venue in South Side that also has drinks/food menu. Small setting makes it perfect to be close to the show. I went here for a comedy act. Stay up to date with their calendar to see who's coming next.

Club Cafe

Recently opened in Lawrenceville. Cozy interior with bar and table gives you a view of some real-time oyster shucking and maybe some free giveaways if you're lucky. Definitely go with seafood here as it's their specialty - lobster roll is great and they've got all kinds of different chowders to keep you warm on a cold day.

Merchant Oyster Co.

Perfect spot for a coffee after hanging in Highland Park. Really the only storefront on the street, so has a really quiet, neighborhood vibe. Also has pastries and bagels if you're in the market for a bite.

Tazza D'Oro

One of my favorite dive breakfast spots in Pittsburgh. The Jumbot (Guy’s version) is my favorite. Homefries, green and hot peppers, onions, eggs, cheese, and your choice of meat, all mixed together. Featured on diners, drive-ins and dives, this spot is a cant miss. Pancakes are incredible as well with many different options. Expect a wait on weekends

The Dor-Stop Restaurant

Great 🍻 selection. Order their burger if you are looking for a Big Mac on steroids, you won't be disappointed.

The Foundry - Table & Tap

The view, the food, the drink. Altius has it all. Love the different fish dishes I’ve had here. Perfect date night spot. Also perfect for the out of towner who wants spectacular views of Pgh

I only need to say a few things about Stagioni and I will. 1) everything is homemade. Everything. 2) get on their Sunday supper waiting list. You will have one of the best and most filling meals of your life. And 3) my wife and I had our rehearsal dinner here. Enough said.

Dive bar has become our Tuesday spot for dinner and drinks. I wouldn’t even consider this a true ‘Dive’ bar, as their food is up there with some of the best places to eat in the South Side. Not to mention their rotating draft list is super.

Dive Bar & Grille

I had been meaning to try DiAnoias for a while and am I glad I finally did. Very modern and simple inside, just like their food, but some of the purest and most most tasty italian around. Not your typical heavy Italian with mounds of red sauce. Their cacio e Pepe was to die for, along with the Crudo (raw Branzino in lemon oil). Try something out of the box here as you won’t be disappointed. Double espresso at the end of the night made it the perfect meal, and I’ll surely be back soon.

DiAnoia's Eatery

Acorn has only been open for 6 weeks but you better go now because soon you will have trouble getting a reservation. So many flavors in a relatively small but very interesting menu designed for sharing. Small plates of octopus, spare ribs and brussels tartine were all big hits as were the lamb and pasta mains. Save room for their amazing version of bread pudding.
